Barbara Durand- About us -
Yoga came into my life after moving to London and at a time when I was curious to try something new. My sister and brother had been encouraging me to try hot yoga but as a busy marketing professional, I could never seem to find the time. As I was leaving Hammersmith Station one day, someone was handing out leaflets about Lumi and I happened to grab one. Having left a demanding marketing job, I started practicing more regularly and became totally hooked after participating in the ’40 Days to Personal Revolution’ programme. It was then that I experienced true clarity. I committed myself to a journey of not only dedicated practice but also teaching yoga to others. I had found my purpose.
Why and How I Teach
I teach because I love sharing yoga and the benefits gained with others. I want to share the power of how yoga can transform your mind and body. When I practice, I focus on being present in the moment and letting go of active thoughts so I bring that into my teaching too. Using the Baptiste methodology as my blueprint, I teach an energetic and fun class that emphasises the importance of breath and foundation to stay present in the practice. My aim is to make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of experience, age, injury or physical limitations.
