- 200hr Teacher Training -

We believe that teaching yoga is a powerful vehicle to transform your life and the lives of those around you.

Our yoga teacher training programme will provide you with the tools to enrich your practice and teach authentically.

To date, nearly 300 trainees have graduated from Lumi Power Yoga teacher training programmes since we started in 2014.  Lumi teacher training is an environment of high standards and personal attention.  Lumi 200 hour graduates rate the training highly with an average rating of over 9 out of 10 over the past years.

Our graduates come from a variety of backgrounds, ages and levels of experience. The common theme is willingness to seize an opportunity for change, growth and expansion.  Could that be you?

Lumi Power Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training covers anatomy, yoga philosophy and history, teaching tools and distinctions, personal inquiry and much more – all in a safe and supportive environment  designed to support your learning.  Our training is practical and focuses on the reality of teaching a class. Our promise is that by the end of the training you will be READY.

1 Gain Practical, Real Teaching Skills: The best way to find your feet as a yoga teacher is to teach yoga.  You will be practice teaching from day 1 – yep, day 1!

2 Personal Growth: Knowledge and skills to teach yoga are very important.  But who you are being as a yoga teacher and human being is ultimately what connects you with your students.  You will reveal your authentic powerful self.

3 Connection and Fun: Yes, we (and you!) will take the training seriously. It will be challenging and intense at times.  But the environment is safe and supportive, with the right dose of fun. Most of us learn better with a smile on our faces so we will make sure we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

We are not looking for perfection in yoga poses, techniques or knowledge. We focus on cultivating teachers whose teaching is genuine and resonates with others.

  • Asana technique: Alignment, actions, modifications and assists; knowing the nitty-gritty of the poses
  • Teaching tools and distinctions: Learning proven tools for how to teach impactful classes
  • Anatomy and physiology: understanding why and how the practice works and how to teach safely
  • Meditation and Pranayama: learning yoga practices beyond asana
  • Energetic anatomy: Exploring the subtle side of yoga
  • Yoga philosophy and history: Knowing the roots of the practice and depth available
  • Communication and presentation skills: Building skills and confidence to lead and to be seen
  • Teaching practice: Putting the whole into action in class settings
  • Business of yoga: Getting ready for the post-training world
  • Ethics: Exploring how to navigate the complexities of teaching yoga

  • The Lumi team created such an intentional space to further my personal development and facilitated meaningful connections with my fellow teachers. Even if you're not sure that you'll ever teach, teacher training is a life-enhancing experience that empowers intentional and authentic living.

    Whitney H., Spring 2023 training

  • It truly was a unique, enlightening experience. I had been considering embarking on Yoga teacher training for a number of years and after the positive impact and inspiration Lumi Studio has had on my own personal practice, it was the only place that I wanted to do the 200-teacher training course and it did not disappoint. I am very grateful for the experience and personal growth I have had on the journey.

    Natalie K., Spring 2023 training

  • Everything was amazing, the energy, the wisdom you shared with us, the lightness and laughter when needed, it was brilliant. It definitely exceeded my expectations of what YTT would be like. Thank you very much.

    Maggie D., Spring 2021 training

  • Quality of teaching amazing. Energy levels and good humour sustained throughout. Extremely hard work but such high rewards, thank you.

    Sandy D., Spring 2021 training

  • I loved every aspect of the teacher training. For me everything worked really well. The variety of each weekend, from daily practice variations, practice teaching, history and philosophy, to anatomy, enquiry and daily gratitude was excellent. The entire experience was actually far more than I could have hoped for when I signed up. The way that the group came together in such an open and supportive manner was icing on the cake.
